Bryan Mattraw has been making pots for over thirty years. After first taking pottery classes in college and earning a degree in Art Education, he began teaching in Loudoun County.
He took a sabbatical to run a studio outside of Boston, then pursued an apprenticeship in Vermont to learn about wood firing and salt glazing. When he returned to Loudoun in 2001, he helped his friend Shawn Grove build a kiln in Lucketts and then built his own in 2008.
